Square Enix has announced a rebrand of Final Fantasy XIV to “A Realm Reborn”, previously known as “version 2″. The game is said to be completely rebuilt from scratch and will be available for the PS3 and PC “soon”, according to Square Enix.
Game director Naoki Yoshida states:
“Since announcing our plans for the future of the title last October, we have been working tirelessly to include all of the elements that we have promised in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, which we announced today. This new title not only becomes a symbol of a completely new Final Fantasy XIV, but also marks the beginning of a new stage as the latest title in the Final Fantasy series. I’ve wanted to try this game out since it was released, but never had the hardware :p I was a fan of FF XI but knew that it was missing so much in comparison to the other top MMORPG’s XIV looked very promising but also got an incredibly low fanbase in the UK, but now that they’ve updated it and its being released on PS3 i can see it doing a great deal better. I think i’ll be keeping an eye on this one

I may just try this one out as well, it looks promising. I never played the original but I heard it was fun, so being remade should only make it better. Hopefully.
