Borderlands 2 Season Pass And DLC Plans

Gearbox and 2k Games have announced DLC plans extending until June of 2013 for Borderlands 2. These DLC packages will be $9.99 (800 MSP) individually, but if you know you will be getting them all you can save about $10 by buying the season pass for $29.99 (2,400 MSP). There are to be four individual expansions coming out separately, all being available by June of next year.

Borderlands 2 is still due out on September 18, don’t forget to pre-order for special bonuses and exclusive content including the 5th playable character, the Mechromancer!

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Officially Announced

So we already heard that Kojima Productions were working on a new Metal Gear Solid game, but we didn’t hear much else about it. Last night at the Metal Gear 25th Anniversary event in Japan, Kojima wowed audiences with a demo for the newest title in the Metal Gear Solid series: Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. The demo showed off the new Fox Engine, delighting and stunning the audience.

Photos and videos were not allowed during the video, but word is that the demo was amazing – revealing beautiful graphics and awesome gameplay/cutscenes. Kojima said that the new Fox Engine will run on current-gen consoles, but will also be easily transitioned to the next gen. From the looks of thing, this new engine is the best it’s going to get graphically on current-gen.

Team Bondi’s Next Project Gets Details

Team Bondi, the team behind L.A. Noire, has revealed information for their new title “Whore of the Orient”.

The information for the game is all here on their website, but below is a basic synopsis for the game:

“Shanghai, 1936. Whore of the Orient. Paris of the East. The most corrupt and decadent city on the planet, where anything can be had or done for the right price. Plaything of Western powers who greedily exploit the Chinese masses. Boiling pot of Chinese nationalism, with the Kuomintang ruthlessly trying to suppress Communism and the labor movement. Home to the International Police Force, a group of Western cops hopelessly trying to keep the lid on and keep the peace.”

New Skyrim DLC Announced Titled “Hearthfire”

Hearthfire is due out September 4 on the Xbox 360 for 400 MSP. Sorry guys and gals, seems as if this is another 360 exclusive with no PC/PS3 release date in sight.

This DLC will allow you purchase land, build your own house, and even adopt children. Check out the walkthrough video below for all the details:

PS Vita Software Updates Adds PSOne Classics

Software update v1.80 for the PlayStation Vita is going to be a big one, enhancing your experience and adding PSOne classics to the device. Below is a list of what will be available on August 28 for the PS Vita:

  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Hot Shots Golf 2
  • Jet Moto
  • Syphon Filter
  • Tomb Raider

Sony assures us that:

“For those of you who have already purchased these titles, you will be able to re-download those games directly from your PS Store account or transfer them to your PS Vita directly from your PS3 at no extra charge.”

Notice that there is no group stream this week, that is partially due to the fact that I will be gone almost all week and want to make progress on Bioshock 2. The other part is because I have decided to do the group streams only twice a month instead of every week.

Mass Effect 3 ‘Leviathan’ DLC Launch Trailer

So in case you didn’t know the first story based, single player DLC for Mass Effect 3 titled ‘Leviathan’ has been given a release date. Now, it has a launch trailer to promote it. The DLC will be available on August 28 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Check out the new trailer below:

I Am Alive To Be Released On PC

Ubisoft has announced that the previously console exclusive “I Am Alive” will be released for the PC on September 13, 2012.

“I Am Alive” is a survival horror/action game taking place after a worldwide disaster that rendered the world nearly uninhabitable and covered by a cloud of toxic dust. You play as a man named Adam who is trying to reunite with his wife and daughter while also trying to survive in the deadly world he now inhabits.

The PC version of the game will include two new features previously unavailable in the XBL/PSN version of the game. Easy mode allows for infinite retries and a “smoother introduction”. Replay mode allows you to go back to previous levels to collect all the goodies.
