Skyrim ‘Dawngaurd’ DLC Gets Released For PC, No PS3 Date In Sight

Skyrim’s DLC ‘Dawngaurd’ is now available for PC. It’s available on Steam for $19.99.

Sadly, the PS3 version of the downloadable content has not been given a date. Bethesda released this statement regarding the PS3 version:

“We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse. We do everything we can to have our content available to all; from our free updates, to user mods, to paid DLC.

We’re as disappointed as our fans when that isn’t the case, but we’ll continue to push for that reality.”

I will keep all you PS3 Skyrom players informed as soon as more information is released regarding the ‘Dawngaurd’ DLC.

  1. I’m glad that they are taking their time with the PS3 version. I wouldn’t want a “lesser version” running on PS3 just because they wanted it to come out sooner rather than later. Then again, I am rather tired of developers catering to xbox first. Even though they don’t plan it out that way all the time.

    • It is nice of them to take their time making the PS3 version better. Microsoft just shells out more money to get these exclusive things, honestly Sony needs to follow suit and do the same or they are going to fall behind. It’s not like that’s an awesome thing to do, but it’s just how things are these days I suppose.

  2. Honestly, I love PS3 and sony, and I’ve been with sony for 5+years, but with all of this waiting for Skyrim “Dawnguard” I am starting to think about moving to XBOX360 just because of this. Bethesda shouldn’t allow companies to buy them out for quicker release dates and sony should be doing the same thing if they’re going to try to be even remotely competetive with XBOX360. And I LOVE the free ps3 online but i’m willing to pay $x.xx ( I’m not sure how much XBOX Live cost) for better games and newer release dates. I used to think the ps3 couldn’t be matched by any other console, but now i see that XBOX360 is starting to rise above the pack. The best thing is, my brother already has a XBOX360 that he doesn’t play (I’m not sure why) so i can just sell my ps3 and go straight into XBOX360. Sorry for such a long post. I’m just mad about the “Dawnguard” thing. Um… I would appreciate any comments about about what i should do (talking about staying with ps3 or going to XBOX360) and I would like to listen to anyone’s comments about the ps3 “Dawnguard” situation.

    • I think that you should keep your PS3, since the service is free, and just get a 360 as well. That’s what I do and I love it. I get the best of both worlds. Do what you feel is best, but that’s my suggestion. I agree that Sony needs to start spending some money to get exclusive releases like Microsoft though. It would be a good move for them and would get them more customer loyalty.

  3. gotta pay to play xbox charges a fee so they can buy out games ps3 is free so not cost wise for them buuuuut xbox will make there money back on fees some way lol so while we ps3rs pay 1 fee xbox players kinda pay monthly fee…in the long run:)

  4. Sony created playstation plus for this reason. if Every ps3 user payed for play like xb360 users then there would not be an issue like this… but once you make it free and people are used to being free its hard to make them pay for it with out losing players. ( ie netflix increase cost them huge)
