LittleBigPlanet 2 To Be First Game With Cross-Controller Support

LBP2

More awesome news for LittleBigPlanet fans, LBP 2 will be the first game to feature Sony’s newest cool doodad Cross-Controller play. The Cross-Controller Pack is due out next Tuesday, but I’m sure by this time you are already thinking “What the flip is this Cross-Controller business?” Well, let me explain it to you.

The Cross-Controller feature allows players to use their PlayStation Vita as a controller on the PlayStation 3. I know right, that’s insane! That’s not all, not only can the Vita be used as a controller, all of it’s features such as front and rear touch will still be used. It doesn’t end there, the icing on the cake is that the Vita will provide a second screen to the game. So players can play through the PS3 on the TV using a Vita and all of it’s features plus a second screen.

The first game to support this feature, as I said above, will be LittleBigPlanet 2. I’m sure that wont be the only title to support this feature in the future though, so that’s good news. I personally can’t wait to see more using this feature, because it honestly looks super interacting and awesome. The Cross-Controller pack offers up a whole new adventure for you Sackboy in which he/she will team up with some cute Space Pirates on their journey to grab up some lost treasure through the cosmos. Sackboy will face new obstacles which can only be overcome through the use of the Cross-Controller feature. In addition to the new adventure, players will also be able to use the creation feature to make their own playable community maps that use the Cross-Controller feature.

The Cross-Controller pack will be available next Tuesday, December 18, for download on the PSn. It will set you back $4.99 and all you need is a PlayStation 3, a copy of LittleBigPlanet 2, and a PlayStation Vita.

Media Molecule Announces ‘Tearaway’

Media Molecule, the creators of LittleBigPlanet, have announced a new game called ‘Tearaway’. Siobhan Reddy, Studio Director at Media Molecule says:

“Tearaway is kind of like a buddy movie. It stars iota, a messenger from a paper dimension, whose envelope head contains an urgent message to deliver… to you! It’s a very special message, and one that’s unique for each and every player. In order to read yours, you’ll need to take up the role of co-star and, together with iota, journey through the vibrant papery landscape — two buddies going on an epic adventure.”

The game is for the PS Vita, it is to be played as if you are holding the entire paper world in your hands, in a god-like manner. A lot of power is at your fingertips, and you can make yourself known using all the PS Vita’s “bells and whistles”. You can shake the world up, turn it upside down, and even breath onto the device cause an extreme gust of wind in the game. You can also tap your fingers on the the back of the PS Vita and tear through the paper world, helping iota complete the journey.
