25 Days of Favorites – Day 3

There are many characters to choose from when it comes to picking a favorite. I already shared my favorite male and female characters with you all, so now it’s time for the little guy that didn’t really fit into either of those categories  but shouldn’t be left out. It can be a he or a she, and it can put a smile on the face of anyone, of any age, anywhere. My runner up favorite video game character is:

I would say he is arguable one of the cutest video game characters ever, but I don’t think an argument can be made against him. He is the embodiment of adorable, and the perfect character for children and adults alike to get on board with. When LittleBigPlanet was first announced, I wasn’t sure if I’s like it since it looks simple and almost childish, but I played it and my opinion instantly changed. I realized the game was not just for kids, nor was it just for adults, it was for everyone. The game itself is so simple yet so fun, and the little dude that wraps it all together is Sackboy.

I like to make a variety of Sackpeople, ranging from boys and girls to bunnies and lizards. There are all kinds of game costumes too like Sonic, Nathan Drake, Chun Li, and more! I even got a unicorn in LittleBigPlanet Karting for having playing previous LittleBigPlanet games. How cute is that? A little sack unicorn. I even like to keep it original sometimes and go with the plain brown Sackboy because he is awesome. I had to give him a little spotlight because he is so special, he puts a smile on my face any day of the week. Sometimes, when I’m feeling a little blue, I pop in some LittleBigPlanet and just smile the day away.

Even Little Sisters love him!

Media Molecule made a game and a character that will always have a little place in my heart for being so cute, creative, and fun. Sackboy is awesome, and if you don’t like him you must be dead inside. This is why he is definitely my ultimate runner up favorite character. Viva la Sackboy! (Yea, I don’t know Italian so that is probably wrong  but you get the point.)

  1. I want to have some fun with this one. I love the Prince from… you guessed it… PoP08. But seeing as how you don’t have a favorite boss battle in here, I think I will use this for my boss selection; and that goes to: THE GREAT MIGHTY POO! Not only is it a creative boss battle with chocolate as health in a fortress of excrement, but it is also a 5-star Opera!

  2. MM really did a great job with the design and concept of Sackboy. A family friendly character is something Sony was sorely lacking, as evidenced in their Sony Smash game. It took me way too long to beat LBP2, I couldn’t stop playing the basketball minigame.

For me it would be Vivi of Final Fantasy IX. FFIX was my first Final Fantasy (also my favorite) and I think it was largely due to Vivi’s design that I picked it up. He’s shy and insecure in his own ability. Thanks to Zidane (the main character) he’s able to grow as a character and realize his potential as a mage. When you learn of his origin you find that he’s a very tragic character which also makes him appealing and memorable for me.

    • They did indeed do a great job with Sackboy, he is a brilliant character in many ways.
I have never played FF9 but that character does sound interesting. FF characters are usually pretty cool though, with some obvious exceptions.
