LSZ’s 2013 Game of the Year Awards – Developer of the Year

-Developer of the Year-

And the winner is…

quanticdream

Quantic Dream

Quantic Dream really blew my mind this year with Beyond Two Souls as well as their tech demos and graphical superiority on the PlayStation 3.

Beyond Two Souls was released in October of this year and was met (by me) with much approval. I love the gameplay, the narrative, the characters, and most of all – the development. It’s easy to see how much effort was put into making the game a blockbuster. Featuring voice and motion capture work by Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe the game really hit new heights in the technical department. The characters looked and moved around in such a realistic way that I was astonished. Not to mention the sheer brilliance of the graphical content which is featured, pushing the PlayStation 3’s hardware to its limits and looking absolutely gorgeous.

On top of that Quantic Dream has shown us what we can expect from them in the future as developers on the PlayStation 4 with the tech demo titled “The Dark Sorcerer”

Overall I feel that Quantic Dream really went above and beyond (haha, see what I did there) this year as a developer, I truly hope to see more greatness from them in the future.

Naughty Dog (The Last of Us)

Irrational Games (Bioshock Infinite)
