Batman: Arkham Knight Release Date and Collectors Editions Revealed

This morning Warner Bros. and Rocksteady revealed the release date for Batman: Arkham Knight, the upcoming addition to the Batman: Arkham game series. The game has been slated to release on June 2, 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Two separate Collectors Editions of the game were announced as well.

The first is the Limited Edition which comes with the following:

  • An Artbook
  • Steelbook Case
  • A Limited Edition Arkham Knight Comic
  • 3 “New 52” In-Game Character Skins
  • Limited Edition Batman Statue

The second Collectors Edition is called the Batmobile Edition and comes with everything the Limited Edition does except the Batman Statue is switched out with a transformable Batmobile Statue.

The Limited Edition will be sold for $99 and will be available for all available platforms whereas the Batmobile Edition will be $199 and will only be available for the console editions of the game.

Of the two editions, I am personally leaning towards the Limited Edition. Not only do I want the Batman Statue more, it’s $100 cheaper and otherwise includes the same items. Don’t get me wrong, the Batmobile Statue looks really cool, but I just don’t think it’s worth $100 when I really want the Batman Statue.

Do you plan to pre-order either of these Collectors Editions? If so which one and why?

  1. I’m with you on that. The Batmobile is not worth $100 extra to me. Even if it was, I’m not going to spend that much on a game. (Except maybe ME4.) Everything about the limited edition looks awesome, though. Great value. I’ll likely get that one!
