LSZ GotY 2014: Best Indie Game
Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us series was definitely my favorite indie game of the year. I am a big fan of anything fairy tale related and a game that takes fairy tales to a more heavy, serious level is definitely one that catches my eye. I found this 5 episode series to be one that kept me on the edge of my seat and looking forward to the next episode. With an awesome narrative, well written characters and the ability to shape the game based on choices you make are what gives The Wolf Among Us the title of best indie game of the year.
Transistor was easily my favorite Indie game this year, and quite possibly my favorite ever. Super Giant Games brings their all with this incredible game filled with one of the most interesting settings, a neo-victorian cyber punk world on the brink of disaster, and one of the best stories of the year. The gameplay is a stand out as well, with a very clever strategic combat system that will keep you striving for perfection. This game was emotionally impactful, incredibly fun, and absolutely beautiful in every way, from the stunning art to the incredibly soundtrack.
